Secunderabad food safety inspectors recently carried out a surprise inspection at the Golden Dragon restaurant in Parklane and found 8 kilograms of raw chicken that had expired on December 15 and 2 kilograms of boneless chicken legs that had expired the day before the inspection (December 17). . Also, 2 kilograms of bags of noodles were confiscated because they did not have labels. According to reports, a food processing operator (FBO) failed to submit water analysis reports, an employee health FoSTac records and certificates of employees as well. It also said there were synthetic food colorings, which officials suspect are used in cooking.
The team also noted that the refrigerators were unsanitary and the food stored in them was not labeled. Also, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items were kept together in the refrigerator. At Sarvi Restaurant and Bakery on MG Road in Secunderabad, officials found that food items like Cashew Biscuits, Osmania Biscuits, Bournvita Biscuits etc. were not labelled, lacking key details like manufacture and expiry date. The task force also found that the containers used to prepare the cakes were rusted.
According to another report on X, the task force also checked Begumpet near Secunderabad on the same day. At Chillies Restaurant in Paradise Circle, they observed an invasion of live cockroaches in the kitchen. And some food items were not covered and none of the food items were labeled.
