Try to notice what causes the tantrum of your teenager. It may feel unprecedented by denying what they want, either stress from school or friends. Once you identify these triggers, you can help the teenager better prepare for these situations. Talk to them when they are calm what to do the next time they feel broken. You can even make a plan of how they should respond next when it happens. Perhaps they can listen to music, take a walk or use soothing technique, such as deep breathing. Helping teens to develop these fighting skills, creates their independence and reduces the frequency of hysterics in the long run.
And most importantly, be patient. It will also pass!
