The duo, known for its engravings with signatures and an avant-garde resort clothing, presented a bright ski collection with the participation of sculptural ski suits, APRES-SKI and winter layers. However, the event quickly became controversial, inciting discussion about cultural sensitivity and terms.
A fashion show that took over social media
The show, which took place on March 7, was a visual spectacle, exquisite pressing on the snow-running strips, decorated with vivid artistic prints, 3D decorations and liquid silhouettes. The collection is freely mixed with luxury, rethinking modern ski aesthetics with a bold maximalist touch. However, while the fashion world noted this moment, which is conducting the border, the video from the event was widely distributed in the social media, causing criticism for the timing during Ramadan’s holy month.
The controversy unfolds
The show, intended as a holiday and skill holiday, was instead at the center of the hot debate. Religious and political leaders, including Mirviza Umar Faruk, condemned the event, considering it inappropriate for the cultural and spiritual ethas of the region. “Flag! What Ramzan’s holidays are organized on the holidays of Ramzan, an obscene fashion show,” Faruk said on X (previously Twitter).
Adding to the conversation, Chief Minister Jammo and Kashmir Omar Abdula recognized public sentiment, saying that the images had revealed ignorance of local sensitivity. Since then, he has ordered an official report on the issue for 24 hours.

Despite the disputes, Shivan & Nootrest remain pioneers in the luxurious swimming and ski fashion of India, combining global trends with Indian artistry. Their Gulmarg shows are increasing the demand for high fashion skiing in India, offering increased taking après-ski with bold colors, structured silhouettes and liquids.
