The authors of the study sought to study the link between the use of pornography and the stability and quality of romantic relationships, as well as sexual pleasure. They suggested that people who are sexually romantic partners feel improving the quality of relationships over time. However, they were uncertain whether the arousal with pornography would contact the improvement or decrease in the quality of relationships and sought it further.
The study included 309 participants, between the ages of 18 and 72, who reported a romantic relationship at least six months – 67 percent identified as heterosexual, and 25 percent as bisexuals. On average, the participants had been with their current partner for seven years-9 percent that they were in non-Nanonomic relations, and there were no children in 71 percent.
The results showed that participants who reported a higher level of excitement against a romantic partner usually have a better quality relationship, greater stability and higher sexual satisfaction. In contrast, people who reported more excitement with pornography in the initial survey are likely to report a decrease in relationship stability and reduced sexual satisfaction in two months. They also sought to use pornography more often.
