The trends are based on a survey of more than 40,000 Gen Z and millennial users. Their prediction simplifies the dating of 2025. Here are a few key trends that can change the way you approach dating:

Often couples hesitate and play it safe before moving on to the love phase. It looks like romance to rival rom-coms will be back in 2025. Romance doesn’t necessarily mean big, dramatic gestures. Celebrating simple joys together is a wonderful expression of love. Micro-mance includes all the simple gestures like sending memes, creating playlists, sharing your favorite song and so on. According to a Bumble survey, more than 52% of women are romantics and are won over by acts of love.

The whole world is a social media scene. Get ready with me dating videos are popular on social media, along with live breakups and even post-date recaps. Couples are much more transparent about their relationships online. They mark both highs and lows, and many consider the content of relationships close. 42% of women feel less depressed and lonely because of similar dating stories shared on social media. Thus, social media has become a tool that supports dating culture by helping people assess what is going right and what is going wrong.

On the same (fan) page

Social media has given rise to several micro-communities, fandoms and very narrow interests. In these fandoms, like-minded people communicate and get to know each other. Similar mutual interests help to bond better. 49% of Gen Z singles surveyed believe that connecting over common interests, no matter how niche or quirky, is a form of intimacy. It’s all about accepting the weird and the common interests.

In 2024, a macho man appeared on social media feeds with the caption “six feet, blue eyes, trust, find men in finance.” as 53% of Bumble survey participants agreed that these conversations will continue into the new year, significantly influencing dating.

Looking ahead has become a major aspect of dating, making it less casual than before. 95% of singles surveyed said their anxiety about the future affects who they date and how they approach relationships. Issues such as finances, job security, and housing now play a significant role in dating decisions. 9% of women value emotional stability and understanding, look for partners who can support and empathize with them in life.
