We turned to gastroenterologists who shared superfroducts and drinks that help you protect your liver to promote detoxification, inflammation and support regeneration.

Here’s a comprehensive guide shared by experts

D -R Schubham Wats, Senior Gastroenterology Consultant at Fortis Hospital in Vasant Kun, explained: “When we celebrate World Liver Day, it is important to focus on one of the most important organs of the body: liver. Responsible for detoxification, metabolism and synthesis.

Here are the main food for the liver that Dr. Wats shared:

1. Turmeric

Nutrient Profile:

  • Curcumin (active substance)
  • Vitamins C, E and K
  • Minerals such as iron and potassium
  • Fiber

Benefits for the liver:

  • Turmeric is known for its powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, primarily because of curcumin. This helps reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, contributing to the regeneration of the liver and improving the flow of bile.

If consumed:

  • Include turmeric into a daily diet by adding it to smoothies, soups or as a spice in cooking. Try to approximately 1 tablespoon of turmeric a day.

Recommended Age Group/Paul:

  • Turmeric is safe for most age groups, including children (moderately), adults and the elderly. Women, especially during pregnancy, should consult a healthcare provider before considerable consumption.

2. The beets

Nutrient Profile:

  • Vitamins A, C and B6
  • Flast
  • Manganese and potassium
  • Fiber
  • Antioxidants (Payins)

Benefits for the liver:

  • Beets enhance detoxification processes in the liver by increasing the production of liver enzymes and contributing to the overall function of the liver. Its high antioxidant content also helps fight oxidative stress.

If consumed:

  • Drink fresh beet juice or add cooked beets to salads or dishes, aimed at 1 glass several times a week.

Recommended Age Group/Paul:

  • Beets are useful for all age groups. Children, athletes and people who want to increase endurance will benefit from their properties that increase energy.

3. Garlic

Nutrient Profile:

  • Alicin (active connection)
  • Vitamins b6 and c
  • Manganese, selenium
  • Fiber

Benefits for the liver:

  • Garlic activates liver enzymes that help the body wash toxins. In addition, it contains sulfur compounds that help detox and promote liver health.

If consumed:

  • Turn raw or cooked garlic daily. Usually recommended one -two carnations a day.

Recommended Age Group/Paul:

  • Garlic is safe for most age groups, but children under the age of 5 should consume it in less from its intense aroma. Older adults can especially use garlic for their antimicrobial properties.

5. Crying vegetables (broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower)

  • Try to include at least one serving (1 cup) of cross -shaped vegetables daily, be it raw in salads, steamed, or fried.

Recommended Age Group/Paul:

  • These vegetables are useful for all ages, but elderly adults may experience increased benefits from improving digestive health and less risk of chronic diseases.

Superdrinks for liver

Like what is on your plate, what is in your cup. Not only do you care about your hydration needs, but you also increase the liver with the necessary nutrients and compounds.

D -R -Bhavesh Patel, Gastroenterologist’s consultant in Bhaial Amin Hospital in Water, Gujarat, shared these healthy drops:

Beet juice

  • It is loaded with betalen, nitrates, vitamin C and manganese. Betaleins support detoxification by activating enzymes that help the liver eliminate toxins.
  • Beets also improve blood flow by maintaining the best nutrient and liver function.
  • The individual should drink 100-150 ml of glass 3-4 times a week.

Lemon water

  • It is high in vitamin C and citric acid. It moisturizes and few calories. Vitamin C stimulates the production of glutathione, antioxidant that the liver uses for detoxification.
  • Lemon water also encourages bile production, which helps digestion and detox.
  • The individual should drink a glass of warm lemon water daily on an empty stomach to achieve the best results.

Turmeric milk

  • Turmeric contains curcumin, a strong anti -inflammatory and antioxidant effect.
  • When combined with milk and a pinch of black pepper, its absorption is greatly improved.
  • The individual must drink a cup of turmeric milk 3-4 times a week, preferably at bedtime.

Juice amla

  • Amla is a power system of vitamin C and rich in polyphenols and flavonoids. This helps to wash toxins, maintains antioxidant activity and enhances liver regeneration.
  • It also helps in protecting liver cells from damage that can be caused by toxins or alcohol.
  • The individual should drink 20-30 ml of fresh amla juice, diluted in water daily, preferably on an empty stomach.

Green tea

  • It is rich in catechins, a type of antioxidant known to combat oxidative stress and inflammation.
  • Some studies have shown that green tea can reduce fat deposits in the liver and increase the level of liver enzymes.
  • Their antioxidant helps prevent liver damage caused by toxins and free radicals.
  • The individual should drink 1-2 cups of green tea daily. Avoid excessive consumption as too much caffeine can emphasize the liver.
