As the World Liver Day, the director of the Institute of the Liver and Bile Sciences (ILBS), the Sarin Sarin stated that it was necessary to make efforts to keep the liver healthy, especially in the morning.

“I want the liver day celebrated every day. We need to make an effort to keep our liver healthy at the moment when we wake up in the morning. If the liver is healthy, you can live longer and India will be healthy. The liver is the most valuable body. Pass your liver to others,” D -Sarin said.
Silent epidemic: Fatty liver cases occur among young people
Over the last six months, Mahajan Imaging & Labs has found that 35 percent of young people who had not reached 45 years who had passed the ultrasonic scan have found fat liver. Health experts associate this disturbing tendency to an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy nutrition models and increased levels of stress faculty that take on the health of the liver for both young and middle age groups.
A fat liver or hepatic steatosis occurs when excess fat grows in the liver. Although often asymptomatic in the early stages, the condition can lead to severe complications such as inflammation of the liver, fibrosis, cirrhosis and even liver cancer when left without control. Non -alcoholic fat liver (NAFLD) affects approximately 32.4 percent of the world’s population, making it the most common chronic liver disease worldwide.
Moreover, the prevalence increased from 26 percent in 2005 to 38% in recent years and is expected to reach 55.4 percent by 2040. A sharp increase in liver cases, especially among young people, raises an increasing question. What makes the fat liver especially dangerous is his silent progression. Most people do not know until the disease advances. Timely examination, lifestyle changes and awareness are crucial for the cancellation of the trend.
Dr Harsh Mahajan, Founder and Chairman of Mahajan Imaging & Labs, Shared His Valuable Insights, Stating, “Fatty Liver Often Develops Silently, with Many Individuals Experiencing No NoticeBle Symptoms Signs Like Persistend Fatigue, Unexplain Discomfort, OR Elevated Liver Enzymes During Blood Tests to Underlying Issues. Especially those who have risk factors such as obesity, diabetes or sedentary lifestyles, pass the liver function (LFT) and ultrasound examination of the abdomen for early detection and timely intervention. “
In Northern India, a public study of adults at the age of 30-60 has been highly prevalent NAFLD: 65.7 percent in urban and 61.1 percent in rural areas. The prevalence among children who are not obese was 12.4 percent and 63.4 percent. Both studies are research articles published by AIIMS and under the guidance of Dr. Shalimar.
Why early detection and screening are meaningful
Among these populations, 23.2 percent in urban and 22.5 percent in rural areas had NAFLD with increased transaminase (ALT), indicating liver damage. The prevalence of liver fibrosis, evaluated by transitional elastography, accounted for 16.5 percent in urban and 5.2 percent in rural participants, emphasizing a significant load on the launched liver disease. NafLD in these populations is strongly associated with metabolic risk factors such as diabetes, central obesity and insulin resistance, which confirms its close relationship with metabolic syndrome. This data emphasizes the urgent need for increasing awareness, conventional lifestyle examination to solve the silent NAFLD epidemic in India and the world.
In the same direction, Dr. Randhir, the chairman of the gastroenterology and gastrosity, the hospital of the medant, expressed his problems-“fatty liver diseases turned into one of the most urgent but insufficient tasks in the health care of our time. Even cirrhosis can be silent for many years without causing any immediate alarm.
The growing disease is especially manifested in persons under 45 years, which indicates a shift in the profile of the disease traditionally observed in adults. Experts attribute this shift with increasing consumption of processed products, reduction of physical activity, irregular sleep cycles and high stress, especially in postpandemic work.
Non -alcoholic fat liver disease (NAFLD), which is re -qualified as metabolic dysfunction associated with steateotic liver disease (Masld), becomes a significant health problem among young Indians, especially those engaged in sessile professions. Recent studies indicate a sharp growth of prevalence, with such lifestyle factors as prolonged seat, poor eating habits and lack of physical activity that are the main participants.
“A Study conducted by the university of Hyderabad revealed that over 80 per cent of it Professionals Suffer from Masld, with 71 Per Cent Classified As Obese and 34 Per Cent Diagnosed With Metabolic Syndrome. Findings underscore the impact of sedentary work environments and unhealthy lifestyles on Liver Health, “Said Dr Ankur Garg, Director & Senior Consultant, Center For Liver-Gi disseeses and TRANSPLANTATION (CLDT), Aakash Healthcare.
