Anchoring neutral and bold shades in minimalism

In an interview with HT Lifestyle Ar. Rajkumar Kumawat, Founder and Principal Architect, Rajkumar Architects shared, “Starting with a neutral, minimalist foundation serves as the foundation for the design. Using soft, warm tones for the walls and floor can create a calm background. They give a refined aesthetic to any space, fostering a sense of minimalism. Also, adding bright colors in measured doses can create a unique fusion. For example, a velvet sofa in jewel tones can instantly change the mood without breaking the minimalist core.”

Bright color schemes make a statement

In contrast to the restrained tones of cozy minimalism, bold color palettes add individuality and brightness to the interior. “For example, deep emerald green and amethyst purple are combined with earth tones such as terracotta to achieve the perfect balance between drama and harmony. Also, for retro minimalism, warm mustard yellows and olive greens reminiscent of the 1970s are reinterpreted in a modern way, often paired with sleek furniture,” Ar added.
