The Gen Beta era is officially upon us!

The last time the world collectively experienced a generational shift, literally, was in 2010 when Gen Alpha brought the world closer together. 2024 was the last year of the Gen Alpha babies, who gave way to 2025. As such, the New Year 2025 is especially special, as it marks the beginning of a whole new generation of babies, many of whom will shape the world in their own way. But in order to shape the world, they will first need to experience a world that is dynamic at best, changing and decaying at worst.
So what’s next for Gen Beta then?
If you think your life is too technology-driven, imagine an entire generation of babies being raised in a technology-driven childhood. The necessary evil of modern times, artificial intelligence, is on its way to becoming absolutely indispensable. As such, AI-driven technologies will form the main pillars of Gen Beta’s lives, right from the womb. Whether it’s education, development, or the home environment, we may just be looking at a whole new generation of children being raised with the help of artificial intelligence – basically, we mean it.
Regardless of which side of the climate change debate you’re on, sustainability is no longer a “choice” per se for Gen Beta. Futurist Mark McCrindle says on his blog, “(Gen Beta) will inherit a world struggling with big societal problems,” and the state of the environment will be at the heart of that. Given that all goes well, many of these babies are projected to live long enough, even to the end of the century, generational researcher and author Jack Dorsey shared with NBC News.
Here comes Generation Z!
A few percent of Gen Alpha are still in diapers, and some, the oldest of them, have just gotten up. According to the schedule, the oldest children of Generation Alpha turned 14. So, in truth, they will still need to be given a platform to actually make their mark on the world. But their predecessors—oh, their predecessors! Meme culture may be (almost) as old as the internet (don’t worry, we’re being a little dramatic here, Gen Z-esque), but the piles and piles (albeit relative) of content that the Gen Z Vibe has managed to produce is truly something. A one-of-a-kind generation that doesn’t take no for an answer, always has its priorities straight, and seems to be perpetually in a YOLO wobble. And while it may seem free, fancy and too casual for young people entering the global workforce, perhaps previous generations could take a leaf or two from their book when it comes to self-love, or at least the eternal pursuit of them
Back to Gen Beta, here’s a new generation and possibly a new world!
