Keerthy Suresh Reveals She Wore Her Mom’s 30-Year-Old Red Repaired Saree To Her Wedding

Keerthy Suresh tied the knot with her longtime love Anthony Tutil after 15 years together in a beautiful and intimate ceremony in Goa on December 20. The actor’s wedding photos were nothing short of magical and her bridal wardrobe was the perfect blend of tradition and modern style. In a recent interview, she revealed the touching story behind the stunning red saree she wore to her wedding. The Story of Keerthy Suresh’s Red Wedding Saree

Speaking to Galatta India, Kirti shared the story of her iconic red saree, “It’s my mom’s wedding saree and I got it repaired. Anita Dongre did it, and she did it beautifully.” She also took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, scrolling through pictures of her mother wearing the same red saree 30 years ago.

When asked if wearing her mom’s saree was always part of the plan, Kirti admitted, “Not really. It was at the very end. I was supposed to wear a saree in the beginning but it was assigned by the groom.So I had to change into that later so I needed two sarees and mom told me to look for something to wear and I saw it was her saree, I immediately asked her if I could wear it.’

She further explained that even though the sari was old, she was not ashamed to wear it. “It’s not about how old it is or what quality it is – it’s yours and you wore it,” Kirti added. She also praised her mom for preserving the saree so beautifully over the years.

Keerthy’s gorgeous saree in red hues was embellished with beautiful silver floral motifs and shimmering zari embroidery. She paired it beautifully with a matching red blouse that also featured the same intricate silver embroidery. She accessorized her bridal look with a diamond necklace, matching earrings, a maang tikka and a multi-bangle set.
