“Pa photograph is a form of deception; it’s what the photographer includes and excludes in the frame and what their point of view is,” says Dayanita Singh, explaining the title of her exhibition. Photo Lies is currently on display at the Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation (JNAF) in Mumbai’s Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS). It features excerpts from the retrospective Dancing with My Camera, which toured Singh in Europe from 2022–2024, as well as new works created especially for this exhibition, all of which are presented in India for the first time.
