The Kumbh Mela, the world’s largest peaceful spiritual gathering, is often referred to as one of the most energetic and spirited fairs. It is a celebration of faith, religion, soul and, of course, devotion. Millions of devotees rush to Prayagraj and other places in the hope of freeing their souls from the cycle of birth and death and attaining liberation from the evils that the material world harbors. Legends say that when Lord Vishnu took the pot of Amrit from the asuras (demons), 4 drops of Amrit fell in 4 different places and now these cities host the Kumbh Mela.
