Varun Dhawan recently appeared on a podcast with Ranveer Allahbadia, in which the actor spoke on a variety of topics, from health to career to his idea of success. A segment of the podcast went viral on social media as he shared advice for young people on how to deal with career, success and socio-economic inequality of opportunity. Patience is key
In the podcast, the host asked Varun to share his advice for young 22-year-olds starting out in their careers. Varun used to say that you have to be hardworking because there is no substitute for work. Before that, the presenter added, patience is the key. Varun replied that each of us needs to learn patience in life to navigate everything that comes our way.
The importance of uplifting others
Varun also pointed out that there is social and economic inequality in the society. For some, they get opportunities and make things much easier than for others. It is very important that people who come from this space of privilege lift others up and not just work on their own lives and success. There is no satisfaction in being successful alone when others are left behind. We should try to help and uplift everyone and have a sense of community, Varun added. The importance of mental health in our careers:
In an earlier interview with HT Lifestyle, Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee, Vice-Chancellor, IILM University Gurugram, emphasized the importance of taking care of one’s mental health while preparing for success. “Managing mental balance and managing stress and anxiety are paramount for successful young people to achieve success and happiness in life. For this, the youth must absorb and instill positive thinking and a sense of optimism at every step. It is a long process that needs to be practiced diligently on a regular basis with utmost sincerity and dedication. Positive thinking brings positive emotions and optimism that make the mind focus on finding solutions and learning from failures constructively instead of dwelling on failures and feeling frustrated,” said Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee.
