For Subhashri Rautarai, 32, an IT professional and mother of a five-year-old daughter, the realization that her health was deteriorating came from an innocent comment by her child. Watching the mother-daughter play playfully, her daughter said, “Mom, you must look like my big sister when I grow up, so we can wear each other’s dresses.” This simple desire became a strong signal for awakening.
A turning point
In December 2023, Subhashri weighed more than 94 kg. Her path to health was not only about appearance — it was about regaining well-being, reversing age-related decline, and being active as a parent. “I wanted to be an example to my daughter and show her how important it is to take care of yourself,” she says.

The motivation for transformation
After years of failed gym memberships and crash diets, Subhashri knew a different approach was needed. Her transformation began in January 2024 with a commitment to a homemade diet and a modest daily routine: 30 minutes of walking and 15 minutes home workouts.
“I reminded myself that it’s not just about looking good. It was about preventing health problems and being the best version of myself for my family. Every kilogram I lost motivated me to keep going,” she shares.
Adhered to diet and training
Consistency was her greatest weapon. “At first I didn’t go to the gym because I had failed many times before. I focused on small changes—balanced, home-cooked meals, portion control, and a calorie deficit,” she explains. Subhashri cut out processed foods, limited eating out and preferred foods rich in protein and fiber. Keeping track of her diet and water intake helped her stay on track.
By July 2024, she had added strength training at the gym to her routine. The results came slowly but steadily. After three months, her scales began to reflect her efforts, and she was finally dressed in her old dresses – an emotional moment of triumph.
Achieving milestones
“Going from XXXL to Large/Medium (depending on the brand) was a dream come true,” says Subhashri. Her total weight loss — more than 20 kg — took her from 94 kg to 71 kg, lowering her BMI from the high-risk category to a healthier range. The trip also restored her confidence and energy levels.
Today, she continues to strengthen her body and strives to reach the ideal weight for her height. “This journey is not over. My focus is on building muscle and maintaining my progress with the right mindset.”
Spreading inspiration
Realizing the power of sharing her experiences, Subhashri took to social media to document her weight loss journey. She hopes to inspire others to believe in themselves and take the first step towards their goals.
“Consistency is key and if I can do it, anyone can. Dream big, stay committed and the results will come.
