The US government is going to hold another public hearing Unidentified abnormal phenomena (UAPs) today in order to “pull back the curtain” on the secret UAP research programs and undisclosed finds. The hearing, titled “Unidentified Paranormal Phenomena: The Truth Revealed,” will be held on Capitol Hill and will be broadcast live for public viewing.
The hearing, organized by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, will feature expert witnesses such as Luis Elizondo, a former Pentagon insider; retired Navy Rear Admiral Timothy Gallaudet, journalist Michael Shellenberger and former NASA administrator Michael Gold, according to reports. The main purpose of the hearings is to get the Department of Defense (DoD) to reverse its tendency to declassify materials involving UAPs and to increase the American public’s understanding of these phenomena.
According to reports, Subcommittee Chairwoman Nancy Mays and Subcommittee Chairwoman Glenn Grotman emphasized the need for transparency and accountability, saying, “Americans deserve an understanding of what the government has learned about UAP sightings and the nature of any potential threats these phenomena pose. They added that consistent and systematic transparency is critical to achieving this understanding3.

The hearing is based on guidelines Pentagon report published in March 2024, which concluded that there was “no evidence” that any government investigation, academic study, or official review had ever confirmed that any UAP sighting represented extraterrestrial technology. The report also denies any cover-up of alien encounters by the US government. However, it has been suggested that the UAP sightings are likely man-made technology, possibly belonging to a foreign military power.
NASA also reportedly weighed in on the topic with former NASA Administrator Michael Gold, who clarified the agency’s potential role in understanding UAPs. Gold, who is now chief development officer at Redwire Space, said, “Agencies like NASA have a lot to offer when it comes to understanding UAPs,” emphasizing the importance of collaboration between government agencies to shed more light on these ‘java’

According to recent reports, NASA has found no evidence of an “extraterrestrial origin” of UAP sightings, and the nature of these UAPs remains unknown, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said on September 14. NASA also assigned a UAP research director to further investigate the matter. Bill Nelson announced that this new role will use NASA’s expertise to collaborate with other agencies in the UAP investigation.
The hearings will touch on various aspects of UAP research, such as the Department of Defense’s classification policy, the secret government program now known as the Immaculate Constellation, and the “Go Fast” video in which a fighter pilot recounts his encounter with a UAP. Testimony to be given includes that of Elizondo and Gallaudet; the former will also testify to how the US government glossed over knowledge of UAPs, including material allegedly obtained from crashed flying saucers.
