What should be avoided during weight loss, according to a nutritionist
In a post titled “What I DON’T Do as a Dietitian and Fat Loss Coach,” Mohita, who goes by the name @keeping_it_narrow, shared her dos and don’ts when trying to lose weight. “Are you tired of gaining and losing weight? Do you want to achieve permanent weight loss? Stop obsessing over fad diets, fads, and detoxing,” she captioned the post. Here are 10 things Mohita emphasized on –

According to Mohita, quick fixes like fad diets or detox drinks never help. In contrast, sustainable eating habits produce long-lasting results.
- Promote extreme calorie reduction
She explained, “Severe cuts are metabolically damaging and cause deficiencies.” She emphasized that a balanced diet is a priority, regardless of the goal.
- Exclude entire product groups
According to a nutritionist, cutting out entire food groups is not helpful. Unless medically necessary, sugar, carbohydrates, dairy products or gluten should be removed from the diet. “Variety is the key to health and happiness,” she explained.
According to Mohita, it’s important to learn how to incorporate your favorite foods into your diet as you progress.
- Drink a few cups of coffee/tea to suppress hunger

“Skipping meals eventually leads to overeating,” Mohita wrote in the post. So instead of starving yourself, get back into your routine without feeling guilty about eating out.
You don’t need endless cardio to get results. On the contrary, a combination of strength training, cardio and rest will help you achieve the best results.
- Obsessed with scales
According to the fat loss coach, the scale is only one measure. Focus on overall body fat percentage, energy levels, mood, sleep and strength – because that’s where the real progress is.
