Usually bays falls on April 13 or April 14. This year it will be celebrated on Sunday, April 13. According to legend, Guru Gobind Singh asked the Sykkhs who were ready to sacrifice their lives for their faith on this day. One by one, five people came forward and entered the guru tent.
For a while, only Guru Gobind Singh appeared, his sword is dirty, causing concern about the audience. However, soon five appeared again, dressed in turbans and were presented as the first hauls known as Panj Pyare or a favorite five. They were initiated through the ceremony when guru sprinkled them with Amrit or Holy Water. Woisah also matters in Buddhism, because it is supposed to have the day when Gautam’s Buddha reached enlightenment or nirvana.
The value of the bays
The bays, also called the Sancrants, means the beginning of the solar calendar when the sun goes into the network, the first of the twelve signs of the zodiac. This day also coincides with several other regional spring festivals across India, which celebrate the beginning of the crop season.
These include Mr. Sancrantsei in Odysha, Puyla bays in Western Bengal, Rangali Biho, Puthanda in Tamil Nadu, Vaishai in Bihara, and Visha or Poir Visha in Kerala. While each festival monitors its unique customs and traditions, they all share the common spirit of gratitude and new beginnings.

The bays notes the joyous start of the new harvest season and is of particular importance for farmers who offer prayers and express gratitude for the fruitful yield and livelihood. It is also a time for family meetings, festivities and indulgence in festive food made from fresh season products. This day begins with Gurudwaras visits, and then harvesting and decorating houses, dressing in bright traditional clothes and praying for well -being, happiness and wealth next year.
