Bill Gates by spectrum of autism
While the 69 -year -old Bill Gates did not publicly confirm the formal diagnosis of Asperger, he had previously acknowledged that he probably gets somewhere in the spectrum of autism. In his memoir of 2025, “the source code: my beginnings,” he wrote: “If I grew up today, I would probably be diagnosed with autism.”
Gates reflected on childhood behavior, such as intensive emphasis on certain topics, difficulties with understanding social signals and often without knowing how his actions were perceived by others. In previous interviews, he also confessed that he did not like small conversations and prefers to work alone, both usually related to the TSA.
In a January interview with The Wall Street Journal, Gates commented on how the perception of autism developed. “This whole business or stay in the spectrum is a pretty new thing,” he said. “Previously, autism had a rather narrow definition that you know, defined.”
Bill Gates joins the growing list of loud people who have started about being in the spectrum of autism. Among them are Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who in 2021 publicly revealed that he had asperger’s syndrome.
