Healthy bones require a few nutrients outside of calcium. High salt intake causes the body to release calcium, thereby weakening the bones. The lack of a proper diet with insufficient fruits and vegetables, along with insufficient consumption of food rich in calcium, leads to progressive bone density loss. The bones require the necessary nutrients, including magnesium, vitamin K and protein to maintain strength, although people often ignore these components.
Strong bones require a diet that combines balanced consumption of fruits and vegetables with dairy products, fortified plants and low -fat proteins, nuts and seeds. High salt content should be avoided.
