In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr. Zlizhit Bhograai, Endocrinologist’s Consultant, Hembal Hospital, said: “Hypothyroidism is particularly common, and his symptoms are often ignored or mistaken in other conditions.”

Early warning signs of hypothyroidism:

Hypothyroidism, also known as an inactive thyroid gland, is a condition when the thyroid gland is not able to produce enough thyroid hormones to meet the needs of the body.

Hypothyroidism is noted:

  • Stable fatigue even after a full night’s sleep.
  • A decrease in hair or loss in the scalp. The skin can become dry despite regular help, and many people report muscle seizures and joint pain for no obvious reasons.
  • Digestive problems such as constipation may occur, and sleep disorders may occur from overweight to poor sleep quality.
  • Other signs include an inexplicable weight gain, excessive cold more often than other, irregular and heavy menstrual cycles and even low mood or depression, which does not respond to treatment. Also Read Thyroid health: functions, disorders and 5 thyroid rehabilitation tips

Early Prevention of Signs of Hypertires:

Hypertreosis or hyperactive thyroid gland belongs to the condition when the thyroid gland produces more thyroid hormone than the body is required. This leads to faster metabolism, which can affect several bodily functions.

Symptoms of hyperthyroidism:

  • Rapid or unexplained weight loss, even if the appetite remains normal or increases.
  • Persons often develop heat intolerance, excessive sweating and in the evenings may feel unusually warm.
  • Rapid or irregular heartbeat is common, as well as anxiety, irritability and frequent bowel emptying.
  • Some may experience thin jolts in their hands.

“Hypothyroidism slows the body’s systems, while hyperthyroidism accelerates them, sometimes quite sharply. If you notice three or more of these symptoms that persist over time, it is reasonable to evaluate the thyroid hormone, which includes the level of T3, T4 and TSG,” the doctor added.
