Indian badminton superstar PV Sindhu tied the knot with Venkat Dutta in an intimate ceremony last month in Udaipur, attended by close friends and family. The wedding was a celebration of love and tradition, and the couple’s unconventional ensembles stole the show, mixing personal significance with breathtaking artistry.
Sindhu shared two sizzling looks from her wedding celebration. Her first ensemble was an exquisite seafoam green lehenga by House Of Masaba, aptly named the ‘Ambar Bagh’ lehenga. Designed to tell the couple’s story, this custom piece featured intricate details like badminton rackets, flounces, gold medals (symbolizing Sindhu’s achievements at the Tokyo and Rio Olympics) and paper airplane motifs. The artistry of the lehenga has also extended to the skirt, embellished with tree and ‘sehra’ motifs in ‘dhagai’ and ‘dori’ embroidery, complemented by fabric detailing at the hemline. Sindhu paired it with a ‘Son Phal’ bustier sheer kurta blouse and gota and foil accented fabric dupatta embellished with personalized charms.
Sindhu accessorized with a gold matha patti, custom paranda, medal knuckle ring, dangling pearl earrings, layered necklace and traditional haat phul. She wore her hair in a sleek braid and kept her make-up minimal to let the intricate details shine.
In keeping with tradition, the groom, Venkat Datta, wore a custom ‘Ambar Bagh’ kurta and a ‘veshi’ set that perfectly complemented the bride’s outfit. His outfit reflected their shared heritage while maintaining a refined classic aesthetic.
Sindhu’s second look was equally stunning – a contemporary gold embroidered jacket teamed with red silk trousers and a blouse, showcasing her contemporary style.
