From ensuring sustainable development to promoting tribal art, Christmas trees installed in hotels in Delhi-NCR are rich in themes. Here’s a little bit of fun:

Etas tree
At Sheraton New Delhi, the Christmas tree combines sustainability and tradition. Made of bamboo, it has a design inspired by the diverse tribal arts of India. Amit Kumar from the hotel says: “It’s a symbol of unity and resilience—a reminder that the beauty of the holiday season is not only in celebration, but also in reflection. It invites everyone to admire the beauty of diversity, the power of sustainable development and the traditions that unite us.”

Santa’s Village has come to town!
It’s not just a tree, but an entire Santa Village at Westin Gurgaon, New Delhi. Prerna Daga from the hotel shares, “This year’s Christmas tree is 18-20 feet, making it one of the tallest in Delhi-NCR. It is created to evoke the magic, warmth and grandeur of the holiday season. It took three days to set up, from putting up the tree to the holiday decorations, lights and reindeer.”

Inflating local artistry
Crafted by 70 artisans from 5,000 brightly colored paper fans, the Christmas tree at Le Méridien New Delhi draws its inspiration from Indian carnivals and thus brings a nostalgic charm. The hotel’s Meena Bhatia adds, “This year’s Christmas tree is more than just a decoration; it is a symbol of our commitment to local craftsmanship and sustainable practices.”

Landing of hope
At Courtyard by Marriott Aravali, the tree emphasizes our responsibility towards nature. The resort’s Rajneesh Kumar reports, “This year’s Christmas tree is made from 158 individual plants that reflect the number of rooms in the property and pay homage to the trees that were carefully moved during construction. It underscores our commitment to environmentally friendly methods and thoughtful design.”

Eco Noel
The Christmas tree at ITC Maurya has taken a more eco-friendly approach. It is created using recycled materials such as coconut shells, jute and coir ropes; emphasize creative recycling. The hotel’s Aman Kidwai says, “This tree embodies responsible luxury, reminding us that even when we’re having fun, we can make choices that honor the planet… May this season inspire us all to be mindfully happy through sustainable resources.”

Tribal aesthetics
At the Hilton Garden Inn Saket, a tree highlights the stone crafts of the Gracia Adivasi tribe of Siyava village, Rajasthan. Abhishek Kukreti of the hotel shares, “Bringing this vision to life was a painstaking process that took over a month… The Christmas tree features exquisite marble artefacts handcrafted by the Gracia Adivasi tribe. This collaboration celebrates India’s rich traditional heritage.”

Weaving holiday tales while walking
At Crowne Plaza Mayur Vihar, the Christmas tree is actually woven from khadi! Pankaj Gupta of the hotel says, “This tree redefines the way we celebrate the festival – purposefully and spectacularly. It is a labor of love created over 100 hours by five craftsmen in Dehradun (Uttarakhand). Its khadi-woven structure is colored with natural elements such as moraine root, calendula petals, turmeric, onion and onion peel, all sustainably sourced.”
