Avoid packing unnecessary items that will only weigh you down.” He emphasized: “Also, don’t forget the sunscreen! The Goan sun can be intense and regular application of sunscreen is vital for a safe and enjoyable visit.”
Visiting during the monsoon season (June to September) is a challenge because the lush greenery is impressive, but heavy rainfall can disrupt plans. Ryan suggested being flexible and having a backup plan. “If you visit Goa during this time, you need to be prepared for heavy rainfall and possible disruption of activities. Also, Goa is small and you can get from one end to the other in less than four hours. But that doesn’t mean you have to plan activities far apart. Complete all of South Goa first, then move on to North Goa or vice versa.” This strategic approach will improve your experience and save you time.
One of the biggest pitfalls is trying to do too much. Goa isn’t just a destination, it’s an atmosphere, and rushing through activities can rob you of the experience. One must understand that since Ola and Uber are not available in Goa, your transportation needs to be thought of in advance.” He added: “Talk to someone local – looking at influential people can sometimes contribute to a narrow perspective. Explore lesser-known activities such as kayaking on the Chapora River or visiting a local bakery to see how traditional pao is made.”
