The conclusions of the study

A study published on May 13, 2025 was conducted on mice that fed different types of nutrition to understand the effects of fat on their intestines. Some mice fed chow and others fed food with 36 percent or 60 percent fat. Researchers have noticed that after a few days of fat consumption, their bowel health demonstrated damage.

Author of the study Cyril Seylet from the Walter and Eliza-Hall Institute of Medical Studies, in the statement: “The more saturated fats we eat, the more inflammation that increases. But this inflammation is initially silent, remaining hidden in our bodies up to years later, where it can be as a chronic inflammation.”

As a high -fat diet leads to a hole

Researchers have noticed that consuming a high -fat diet suppresses specialized immune cells called ILC3. This, in turn, produces an important protective substance called Interleukin-22. Interleukin-22 helps in maintaining the intestinal barrier, producing antimicrobial peptides, mucus and close protein jumps. These components prevent harmful bacteria and toxins into the blood. But when the production of IL-22 suppresses the consumption of a diet high in fat, the intestine becomes permeable. This condition is called a hole. Effects do not require years to show; This can provide instant intestinal comfort.
