Childhood is a key part of someone’s life that forms as children grow. This is even the basis of their future person. A new study published in the magazine “American Psychologist” shared a fresh look at the discussion about nature against education. When children get more hugs, attachments from their mothers between the ages of 5 and 10, they will most likely be friendly, open and responsible. To understand how true this is, the researchers also experienced it on the same twins that share 100% of each other’s DNA.

Material childhood matters

Researchers experimented 2200 identical twins in the UK. Identical twins have not only the same DNA, but also grow in the same environment. The only difference was how much commitment they got from their mother.
The results showed that the twins who received more love and frequent expressions through hugs grew to become more merciful, caring, organized and reliable. They reflect the basic personality traits such as openness, conscientiousness and pleasantness. In addition, it looks like a chain effect when someone is high in these features, they will probably get better work and have stronger relationships. These features are related to the success in real life, so simple hug actions can essentially form a child’s life more than you understand.
However, traits such as extraversion that relate to how social someone or neurotism shows how disturbing or emotionally someone did not show much changes. This suggests that these aspects of the individual can more affect geneticists than raising children.

Why is this study important
This shows that raising children really leaves a long impact, going beyond genetics. Love from parents is really a vital aspect that forms our personality. The differences in the same twins, which makes the conclusions even more significant, indicating that even small differences in upbringing, such as how often hug the child, can form who they become in the long run.
Hugs can be simple, but it can play an important role in the formation of a child’s life, starting with their personality, which later affects the success in real life.
