A beautiful island becomes a background for hit -show, and for a few weeks orders the hotel. The beach or the mountain looks viral on Instagram, and there is soon selfie than trees. While these OTT and social media shows affect the wandering travelers, locals in places such as the Canary Islands of Spain, the Marie Mount Fuji Bridge in Japan and Koch Samui Island in Thailand raised red flags relative to an increasing number of tourists, and in some areas they even hold protests.
These landscapes collapse under the fall of tourists. The question is no longer where you travel, but how responsible you decide to do it.
The point of fracture of tourism
Local residents of the Canary Islands in Spain protested against mass tourism, urging the authorities to limit the number of visitors to protect residents from the growth of rent, movement and environmental degradation. They moved with the banners of “Canary who have a restriction”. The government has now demanded Airbnb, lease companies, delete more than 65,000 unlicensed rest lists and deduced more stringent rules from July 1.
Meanwhile, the Marie Harry Fuji Bridge in Japan also fell victim to the invited, and many tourists tried to get the perfect photogenic look of Harry Fudi. “When travel and pop -culture correspond to the virality, hidden directions become part of the list of each,” explains Taulin Bhatiah, chief marketing and revenue officer, Cleartrip, adding: “Platforms in social media or popular OTT shows are not a problem, but they accelerate things, helping us find out these places.” Often, this causes more tourists than the local economy can support.
Influence on the environment
Damage is most visible through environmental degradation. “Mount Everest is littered with debris. On the balls underwater, they face the garbage thrown in front of them,” Kesha Aria shares, a partner in the Pureluxe BY KFT tourist company. It adds: “It also affects the behavior of animals and natural ecosystems. Hetrification is the main cause of protests against tourism. Short -term lease causes the locals, leading to a housing crisis and influence on small businesses.”
Your role is a conscious traveler
As these colorful places fight the supervision, the need for an hour is a conscious journey and the duties of the traveler when they visit such directions. “Conscious Travel Starts with Awareness.
