International Yoga Day: Gen Z turns to yoga for good mental health

Stress levels rise, which pushes younger people to yoga for mental well -being. Experts weigh.

Do you feel mentally merged, anxious or restless? You’re not one. In today’s hyper-connected world, the level of stress is at the highest level, and in response more and more young people are turning to yoga in search of peace. On International Yoga Day today, we study how this ancient practice supports mental well -being.

Although yoga is often associated with physical flexibility, studies show that it is just as powerful for growing mental clarity, emotional balance and inner peace. A recent study in the bodies magazine and the movement showed that practicing yoga-specialized ones who practice astang-notice about a much lower level of depression, anxiety and stress compared to impact. In particular, young people, in particular, benefit from yoga slowing, said Mehar Manjal, a yoga teacher in Delhi and a sound witch doctor in Yoga Connect. She adds: “I noticed young people, especially in the 20th years who refused yoga for improving their mental health. It balances energy centers and aligns the body, mind and soul. Deep stretching and breathing contribute to rest and help regulate endorphins, which leads to better decision-making.” Mehar also recommends that Surai Namaskar as a simple but effective daily practice. “It draws the whole body, includes spinal turns and bends forward, and they can be done easily at home,” she adds.
