The Raj Kapoor Film Festival launched in Mumbai on Friday, marking the birth centenary of the legendary actor and filmmaker. The Kapoor family pays tribute to Raj Kapoor’s enduring legacy by organizing a festival showcasing some of his iconic films. At the opening of the event, Raj Kapoor’s granddaughter, actress Kareena Kapoor turned heads in an ethnic ensemble by renowned Pakistani designer Iqbal Hussain.
While Kareena is known for her dramatic looks on the red carpet, she recently opted for a more comfortable, classic Indian outfit for smaller special occasions. Her recent hand-painted red floral kurta set by Devnaagra, priced at ₹36,500, was a highlight when she and the Kapoor family met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.

For the film festival, Kareena once again chose a stylish yet comfortable outfit, showing her love for traditional silhouettes. She wore a beautiful ivory colored kurta and pajama by Iqbal Hussain, which featured a pure cotton and silk kurta with rust colored piping and tassels on the neckline and sides. The matching ivory inner shirt was embellished with delicate gota work on the sleeves to complement the kurta. She teamed the ensemble with frayed silk pajamas and an ivory dupatta finished with rust edging on all four sides, and completed the look with bright zari pumps.
