In South Korea, openly marvelous remains bold – and often risky – a solution. Exit to the K-Pop industry can still threaten careers. However, an increasing number of idols chooses to live their truth – and doing so, they create history.
Holland
It went down in history as the first open gay-to-pop-kirmi-Ale journey was not easy. Having no entertainment agency who does not want to support the gay artist openly, Holland decided to create her own path.
From the very beginning, his career was completely independent. He worked two jobs on part -time to finance his debut single NeverlandReleased in January 2018 and later turned to crowdfunding to release its first mini-allit in 2019.

The former Wassup member came out bisexual in 2020 and showed that she meets with a woman. Two years later, she fought to sign up with the label as the only openly bisexual idol in the field. In March 2025, Katsseye member Lara Raj went out as an amazing, becoming one of the few idols to do so, actively moving. She shared news with fans on Weverse, saying: “I knew I half a fruit pie when I was eight.” Lara expressed her honor for her personality and attributed support to her fans for helping her feel confident in accepting her.
