As the first Egyptian woman with vitiligo to grace the Miss Universe stage, Logina redefined beauty standards and championed inclusivity at the world-renowned pageant. By opening up about her unique journey, she opened an important dialogue about how true beauty transcends appearances. Sharing her thanks with her 1.8 million followers on Instagram, Salah wrote: “Thank you everyone for being with me on this journey, it means so much!”
She added: “Let’s continue to shape a world free of hate and discrimination.” Her passion and persistence have been met with an outpouring of admiration online. Who is Logina Salah?
Lagina Salah was born on April 21, 1990 in Egypt and grew up in the coastal city of Alexandria. Her journey into the beauty world began with her advocacy for vitiligo awareness and dedication to creating safe spaces for inclusive makeup techniques.
Three years ago, Logina moved to Dubai with her 10-year-old daughter Amy to pursue her dreams. A powerful advocate for women’s rights, she launched Beyond The Surface Movement, a platform dedicated to promoting inclusivity, empowerment and a better world for children, youth and especially women and girls.
