JHOL MOMO, with delicate dumplings imbued with aromatic, spicy broth – is the perfect comfortable food – especially if you crave what nourishes the soul more than the body. But who said you need to choose? While traditional JHOL Momo can be heavy with cream and flour, a healthy version not only satisfies your taste receptors, but also leave you light. This recipe is a delight full of rich flavors, but fewer calories. This dish, inspired by Saista Shaikh of @planes_to_Plates, is ideal for as long as you need a little warmth and comfort.

Ingredients (fall 2)

Instructions

To prepare the cabbage wraps, gently snatch 7-8 cabbage leaves, make sure don’t break them. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water pan and bless the cabbage leaves for about 5-6 minutes. After softening, remove the leaves and lay them down to completely drain.

For the filling, connect 150 g of crushed chicken, 1 tbsp. crushed garlic, 1 tsp. painted ginger, 2 tbsp. soy sauce and salt to taste in a bowl. Mix everything thoroughly. No need to cook chicken in advance – the process of steaming will be great to cook it inside the cabbage wrap.

To make the JHOL sauce, heat a little oil in a frying pan and fry ½ spoon Jera and ¼ TSP black peppers to the fragrant. Add 6 to 7 garlic cloves, ½ inch ginger and 1 small chopped onion, preparing for a minute. Then add from 4 to 5 soaked red peppers, 1 medium sliced ​​tomato, a handful of coriander, 1 h. Mix and cook until the tomatoes are softened and dropped into a thick mixture.

Next, mix 2 tbsp. fried peanuts and 1 tbsp, fried white sesame seeds in a food processor or blender. Add the prepared onion with ½ cup of water to the blender and mix until smooth. Pour the mixture back into the pan, add another glass of water and check the consistency – it should be thick and fed. Bring the sauce to a boil, then remove from the heat. Add 1 tbsp of lemon juice and mix well.

To collect Momo, take the cabbage and put approximately 1 tablespoon of chicken toppings in the center. Carefully roll the sheet around the top, providing the hole below. Grease the steamer and spread the cabbage, making sure the open ends are facing down. Put Momo for 8 – 10 minutes until they are cooked.

After steaming, gently cut the momo in half and place them in a bowl. Pour the hot sauce JHOL on top, giving the broth into the cabbage. Decorate a freshly cut coriander or spring onions and rain from chili oil for this extra note of heat and spices.
