In a recent Instagram post, he revealed what weight loss diets he’s tried and why they all failed to get him in shape; in fact, he said these diets can actually cause weight gain, as well as lead to mental health problems and eating disorders.
“I’ve Tried Every Diet You’ve Ever Heard Of”
Nick said: “How I lost 110 pounds on a diet you’ve never heard of… I lost 110 pounds in 2019. But from 2013 to 2019, I tried every diet you’ve ever heard of: low-carb, keto, “if it fits your macros,” counting every calorie in MyFitnessPal (app), intermittent fasting, one meal a day (OMAD ), cleansing , and chicken-rice-broccoli. I always lost weight, but always gained it back. Because all these diets are shit. They demand to live in limitation and think about food all the time. I didn’t just want to lose weight, I wanted to get rid of food.’
Nick then said, “I knew I had to teach myself something that no diet or trainer had taught me: balance. That’s why I wrote down the simple rules.”
Here they are:
1. I addressed my relationship with food.
2. I addressed the things that made me fat in the first place.
3. I addressed my relationship with myself.
4. I have changed myself as a person.
5. I worked on my mindset: No “diet” will lead to permanent weight loss if you don’t work on your mindset.
Nick’s best diet for weight loss
Nick concluded, “I lost 110 pounds in a year and kept the weight off for almost 6 years. I have created a system that really works and I call it the “Common Sense Diet”. It’s an anti-diet — the diet to end all diets.”
Forget restrictive fads and quick fixes – Nick says this diet combines practical habits, balanced nutrition and careful choices for long-lasting results. According to Nick, it’s about rethinking your relationship with food and reclaiming your life.
