Meet AIMERS: K-pop boy group dominating XO, Kitty Season 2 with three tracks

Season 2 of Netflix’s XO, Kitty features an incredible soundtrack that organically blends K-pop with American pop, reflecting the cultural duality that defines Kitty’s journey. Given the heavy emphasis on the Korean aspect of the show, it’s no surprise that K-pop dominates the track list.

One of the standout K-pop artists on the soundtrack is AIMERS, who recorded three of their tracks in the series. Formerly known as B3o1z and 1st AIMERS, this six-piece boy band is signed to Hyper Rhythm and debuted on November 17, 2022. The band consists of Seunghyun, Eunjun, Daryun, Yoel, Seunghwan, and Woo Young.

Their songs “Fireworks”, “Where We Go” and “Cherish” are played at key moments in the drama, adding emotional depth and energy to the storyline. Let’s delve into the band and members behind these unforgettable tracks.

Seunghyun

Name at birth: Lee Seung Hyun

Position: Leader, dancer, rapper

He was the first member to be discovered and trained for four years before debuting. A former member of Spectrum, he chose “Villain” as his stage name during his time in the group because he wanted something unique. After examining the various options, he felt that “Villain” was a significant and distinctive choice.

Enjun

Name at birth: Choi Eunjung

Position: The main vocalist

birthday: August 6, 1999

He was the second member to be introduced. Before debuting, he spent two years of intense training honing his skills. He is also a former member of the band Spectrum.

Doryun

Name at birth: Kim Doryun

Position: Vocalist

birthday: May 1, 2000

Daryun was the third participant to be introduced. He went through one year of intensive training before stepping into the limelight. In parallel with his studies, Daryun studied at the Dong-ah Institute of Media and Art, where he majored in K-pop.

Yoel

Name at birth: Kim Yoel

Position: Vocalist, dancer

birthday: January 25, 2001

Born in Kangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, he was the fourth member to be revealed. He dedicated four years of intense training before making his debut, showing his commitment and perseverance.

Seunghwan

Name at birth: Seunghwan Park

Position: Vocalist, dancer

birthday: April 6, 2002

He was the fifth member who was discovered and trained for two years before debuting. Outside of music, he enjoys listening to music and playing games, offering fans a peek into his personal interests.

Wauang

Name at birth: Hwang Woo Young

Position: Dancer, Vocalist, Maknae

birthday: June 29, 2003

He was the sixth member who was discovered and trained for two years and six months before debuting. Before that, he was a pre-debut member of DSP N and trained at DSP Media. Vuyong also plays the piano, although he admits he has forgotten a lot of it due to not playing for a long period of time.
