Just like the world is used to Generation Z at the workplace for now Generation Alpha is still growing, the next generation of the population is due to begin on January 1, 2025. The beta generationafter Gen Alpha, this group will include people born between 2025 and 2039. Gen Beta is expected to make up 16 percent of the global population in the next 10 years; many of them will even live to the beginning of the 22nd century, the sociologist showed Mark McCrindle.
For those uninitiated, Mark McCrindle is often credited with defining and creating generational labels. More details about it here.
What are the different generational labels?
Starting with people born between 1925 and 1945, builders follow, followed by boomers, born between 1946 and 1964. Then comes Generation Y — people born between 1980 and 1994, followed by Generation Z, born between 1995 and 1995. to 2009, and Gen Alpha, which consists of people born between 2010 and 2024.
Now the next generation of people after Gen Alpha is Gen Beta. As the term implies, Greek alphabets are now used to designate generations, beginning with Gen Alpha to mark the beginning of a new era in human history.
Commenting on this shift beginning in 2025, McCrindle shared on his blog, “Baby boomers enter their retirement years with different expectations, while builders focus more on relationships and legacy building. The pace of generational change is accelerating, and organizations must recognize these shifts in order to engage in a way that works for everyone.”
All about Gen Beta

The new generation of people, popularly known as “Beta Babies,” “will be the children of the younger Generation Y (Millennials) and the older Generation Z,” McCrindle shared in another blog post about Generation Beta.
Sharing his views on how Generation Beta will grow in the world of technology and artificial intelligence, he further wrote, “For Generation Beta, the digital and physical worlds will be seamless. While Generation Alpha experienced the rise of smart technology and artificial intelligence. , Generation Beta will live in an era where artificial intelligence and automation are fully embedded in everyday life, from education and workplaces to healthcare and entertainment.
“They will likely be the first generation to experience autonomous transportation at scale, wearable health technologies, and immersive virtual environments as standard aspects of everyday life. Their formative years will be marked by a greater emphasis on personalization—artificial intelligence algorithms will tailor their learning, shopping and social interactions in ways we can only imagine today.”
However, he also noted, “The Beta generation will also inherit a world that is grappling with great societal challenges. With climate change, global population shifts and rapid urbanization at the forefront, sustainable development will not only be an advantage, but an expectation. This generation will be raised by millennial and older Gen Z parents, many of whom prioritize adaptability, equality and environmental awareness in their upbringing.” As such, Gen Beta will be more “globally focused, community-driven, and collaborative than ever before,” all of which could change the course of human history.
Speaking about how Gen Beta will build relationships, McCrindle shared that Gen Beta will be connected to the world while still maintaining their individuality. “Social connectivity will look different for Generation Beta. Born into a world of always-on technology, they will navigate friendships, education and careers in an age where digital interaction is the default. However, with curating their own digital identity with safety and wisdom (with their parents’ guidance) as a priority, as well as helping to foster a strong sense of individuality – both online and offline, we predict that Generation Beta will embody a balance between them hyper communication and personal self-expression. They will redefine what it means to belong by combining personal relationships with global digital communities,” he further shared in a blog post.
