New Year’s parties are full of welcome activities for the coming year, fun recaps of the year gone by, and delicious food. The gastronomic extravaganza begins right away with appetizers and snacks during the game. If you don’t have one on your appetizer and entree menu, let sauces come to your rescue. You might even get compliments on your sophisticated culinary skill at adding a flavorful sauce. Here are some sauce recipes that are sure to show off your culinary flair instead of the usual store-bought ones.

Baked sauce with cheese and onions

Recipe from Southern Plate

This sauce is the sweetest of all decadent cheesy goodness. The scallion flavor adds a touch of spiciness.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of freshly grated cheese
  • 113 grams of cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 2-3 small onion cubes
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

Method

  • In a large bowl, add the cubed cheese and microwave for thirty seconds or until the cheese is soft.
  • Now take it out of the microwave and add diced onions, shredded cheese and mayonnaise. Mix well.
  • Grease a baking dish and transfer the mixture.
  • Bake at 375 for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly and browned on top. You can garnish with any seasoning (oregano or chili flakes) for extra flavor.

Cilantro Jalapeño Hummus

Hummus is definitely an exotic dip with the rich flavor of chickpeas and jalapeños giving it a little heat. It is full of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of soaked and boiled chickpeas
  • A handful of coriander
  • 2 tablespoons jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon cumin powder
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • ½ lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil

Method

  • Add chickpeas to the blender.
  • Then add fresh cilantro, jalapeños, sesame seeds, cumin powder, garlic clove, lemon, olive oil and salt to taste.
  • Mix properly until you get a smooth paste.

Salsa

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup chopped tomatoes or 2 medium tomatoes
  • ⅓ cup chopped onion or 1 medium onion
  • 1 hour L. chopped green chili or serrano or jalapeño peppers
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin (cumin powder)
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper / cayenne pepper / paprika / red chili powder
  • Add salt if necessary
  • 2 h. L. lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves

Method

  • Add all ingredients to a blender.
  • For the tangerine salsa, the chef recommended adding two more teaspoons of lemon juice.
  • Serve immediately, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for later.
