The second solo show of artist Oman Podor in Delhi shows 20 pieces of gold jewelry and 9 watercolor paintings. Read to know how nature inspires its work.

As a monk, absorbed in the creation of Mandala – using a meditative process that entails full attention is an artist Oman. Leaning over his work station, he puts his hands on a solid metal and forms it into art jewelry. Using gold and gold alloys, it creates intricate structures that are now exhibited with watercolor paintings on the second solo show called DV.

The name of the exhibition means “two” in Sanskrit. He studies how Poddar creates a comment on the rapid pace of modern life. “I have been engaged in yoga and meditation for many years, and it helped me get to where I am in my artistic journey today,” says the artist who has pursued a college degree in psychology before finding my call for art. “The kind of approach that helped me is very much slowed down and more present,” he adds.

“My journey with jewelry began about five years ago,” Padar shares. Some of his images were also part of his first solo show, in 2021.

‘At the new exhibition there is my watercolor series with all the canvases called Please sit stillHe says, explaining how he “carefully produced every work” to urge the viewer to find peace among the chaos. “I spent about 200 hours to create a single jewelry that is just three centimeters. But then I dedicated a similar time to one picture. I hope people who can be inspired are the absorption into the simplest things,” he concludes .
