Without naming names, the actor recalled that he once spoke with a popular director about plans to transform his body. The director reportedly told Ram Kapoor, “You have a very strong brand as a big guy. The only person who was loved and accepted as a big guy in the industry was (actor) Amjad Khan. When you change yourself, you take a risk.” He agreed with the director, but the actor said that he decided to lose extra weight for himself.

He started his weight loss journey about a year and a half ago. He was fine for the first six months, but then he had a “very bad fall” and hurt his shoulder. Ram Kapoor on weight loss drugs: ‘I’ve never taken Ozempic’

Ozempic (semaglutide) is often prescribed by doctors for people with type 2 diabetes because it can lower blood sugar. It is also used by non-diabetics for weight management. In a 2022 study published in Nature Medicine, treating overweight adults with semaglutide resulted in significant and sustained weight loss. But that’s not what helped Ram Kapoor lose weight. “I have never taken Ozempic or any other weight loss drug, nor have I had bariatric surgery,” he said.

According to research published in the Journal of Visceral Surgery in 2023, from 2008 to 2018, about 6.5 million people underwent bariatric surgery.
