Two crazy bags, one event
Shalini Passi, known for her collection of whimsical and exciting bags, chose another Judith Leiber Swarovski bag during the show. She paired the glittery bag with an equally glittery ensemble and accessories. Meanwhile, Karan Johar paired his chic ensemble with a sculptural Birkin bag designed by Sanuj Birla that was showcased at Paris Fashion Week last year.
Shalini’s Judith Leiber bag is called the Star Eclipse Bag by Swarovski. According to Swarovski’s website, it retails for around US$4,800 ₹4,05,493. She wore it with a black sequined bralette with a plunging neckline and a midriff-baring midriff hemline. A thigh-slit skirt and denim jacket embellished with sparkling stars and bow-shaped studs completed the ensemble.
Along with her Judith Leiber bag, Shalina opted for star-shaped hair accessories, matching earrings, a choker necklace, diamond bracelets, and crystal-encrusted Valentino pumps to complete the ensemble. With her hair tied back in a high ponytail, she opted for silver eyeshadow, coral pink cheeks, mascara-encrusted lashes, pink lips, feathered brows and glowing skin for a glam look.
Meanwhile, Karan Johar’s gold bag is a great example of what happens when art meets fashion. It draws inspiration from the famous Hermes Birkin bag, the pinnacle of luxury. Karan styled it with a white double-breasted jacket, matching satin shirt and flared trousers. He accessorised the ensemble with nerdy glasses, a telephone dial style brooch, statement rings, a slicked back hairstyle and a clean shaven look.
What did the other stars wear to the event?
Among the many stars at the event were Angad Bedi, Neha Dhupia, Tamannaah Bhatia, Kusha Kapil and Vedang Raina. While Angad donned a tailored bandhgala jacket and pants, Neha accessorized it with a crisp white satin blouse and black flared pants. Tamanna chose a sculptural green khaki floor length dress. As for Kush, she donned a strapless black dress while Vedang opted for a striped cardigan, white t-shirt and black trousers for the occasion.
