What did the study find?
The researchers inspected 214 children between the ages of 7 and 17. The children played a simple computer game that checked how well they focused after the mistake. The results were significant when young children up to 11 years of age fought markedly for reorientation after mistakes. But older children, 11 and above, had no problem.
Why is it important?

If anyone has anxiety, they work on mistakes, panic and cannot focus. But it changes over time. From the conclusions it can be understood that when children grow, their ability to move from mistakes improves, even if they have social anxiety. It also suggests that children, as they age, have a much better cognitive control and can focus on their work.
This study also shows that younger children with social anxiety will need additional support from friends and peers when dealing with mistakes, as they do not yet develop skills to fight for their own mistakes.
The data obtained also resemble the importance of treating social anxiety in children depending on age.
