Jaundice is one of the most obvious signs of liver problems. This happens when bilirubin, a yellow pigment that is produced during erythrocyte breakdown, grows in your body. Healthy liver treats and removes bilirubin, but damaged liver cannot make it effective.
It makes your skin and white your eyes yellow. People with diabetes that develop jaundice should seek medical care immediately, as this indicates serious liver dysfunction. However, it should be borne in mind that diabetes is not the only cause of jaundice and can occur in people who are not diabetic, even babies.
