The life of socialite and art collector Shalini Passi is not trivial at all! While she is well known in Delhi social circles, Shalini Passi has now become a household name – thanks to her presence in the OTT show ‘Fairy Tale Lives vs Bollywood Wives‘. From living in a museum-like home to her signature fashion choices, everything about Shalini is grand. In recent interviews, Shalini talked about her unusual arranged marriage and that their wedding cards were designed by the legendary M. F. Hussein, and that is not one, but four!
Shalini and Sanjay Passia love story
Shalini shared in an interview with Brut India that their marriage was arranged. However, the story of how she met her husband Sanjay is unique in its own way. Shalini recalls being at her friend’s sister’s wedding when several girls approached her and asked about her parents. “Will your parents be at the wedding?” the girl asked Shalini, and she answered: “Yes, in the evening,” she recalls. The excited girls told their mother that they had found the perfect girl for Sanjay bhai. In the evening, Pacis came to the wedding to meet Shalini and her parents for an arranged marriage proposal.

Shalini was just 20 years old when she married businessman Sanjay Pasi, and their wedding cards were designed by artist M. F. Hussein. However, there was a condition that M. F. Hussain put forward, and only after her performance, he agreed to design wedding cards.
Elaborating on this, Shalini told India Today Digital: “Hussain Sahab was very close to my husband’s family. My husband’s family approached him to make wedding cards and he said: “I’ll see the girl first, and then I’ll paint (cards).”
And when Mr Hussain saw Shalini and Sanjay, he compared the lovely couple to Radha and Krishna. “Then he saw me and said, ‘This is the Radha-Krishna jodi,'” Shalini recalled.
So the legendary MF Hussain personally drew not one but four beautiful wedding cards for Shalini and Sanjay Pasi. “One was for the Mata Ki Chowki, another was for the sangeet, the third was for the wedding and the third was for the reception,” Shalini revealed.

Shalini and Sanjay Passi got married in the early 2000s, and a year after their wedding, they had a son, Robin. While Sanjay is the chairman of the Pasco Group, Shalini is a well-known artist and art collector in the national capital.
