Weddings in India are great celebrations filled with love, tradition and thoughtful fashion, but sometimes the wedding leechenga becomes the center of dispute. A recent wedding in Panipat, Hariana, accepted a dramatic turn when the bride’s disagreement over Lehengay grew into a full -scale conflict, resulting in the wedding.

Chaos unfolded on February 23, 2025, when the bridegroom from Amritsar arrived in Panipat with his Barat, waiting for a seamless ceremony. However, the tension broke out when the bride’s family objected to the legeng, given toward the groom, insisting that she wears the one they had acquired in the chanden for 40,000.
The groom’s family stated in an interview with ETV Bharat that the bride’s relatives continued to increase their requirements, initially asking for a legeng for 20,000 before insisting on a more expensive. They also claimed that the bride’s family had pressure the marriage and demanded expensive gifts. On the other hand, the bride’s mother, a widow that fights for rapprochement, accused the groom’s family of not providing even the most basic essentials, including garlands, and bringing artificial jewelry instead of gold.

When the tension grew, the situation became tough when the guest allegedly pulled the sword, throwing the wedding into full chaos. Police had to intervene to resume order, but still the damage was done, the marriage was officially abolished, leaving both families except bitter memories.

What was supposed to be a joyful celebration became a cautious story about how a seemingly simple choice of outfit could unravel a whole wedding. In the world of great Indian weddings, it turns out that the wedding lechenga is not just clothes, it is a statement, and sometimes a battlefield.
