An increasing number of women in the US rethink the desire for marriage and romantic partnership, and many choose independence for arranging in unsatisfactory relationships.

According to the report of the Wall Street Journal, this change has occurred because of the change of public expectations, financial security and the usual inconsistency between what women want and what is available to them. “They will rather remain alone than with the person who holds them back,” said Daniel Cox, director of the Conservative Analytical Center.
Andrea Vorlitzk, 29-year-old accountant from Boston, said she refused to get acquainted and now plans to buy the house and even raise children as a single mother. “I don’t want to sit here and say that I’m 100% happy. But I feel happier, just take my reality. It’s moral and emotionally feeling peace,” she said.
While this may be a single conclusion, data show that more lonely women are abandoning relationships, and more than half single women believe they are happier than their married colleagues.
However, this is not the case with men, because only a third of single men think. According to the Pew 2022, only 34% of single women actively sought relationships, which is compared to 38% in 2019.
Men, intimidated by a female career
This shift is due to the growth of education and wages among women. In 2024, 47% of women in the United States at the age of 25-34 received a bachelor’s degree, and only 37% of men corresponded to this qualification.
This inconsistency has led to a non -compliance and increasing reluctance to compromise on ambition, values or equality in partnerships.
Many women who talked to the Wall Street Journal show that more and more men seemed intimidated by their careers or expected to prioritize children and family for their marriage. Some women have encountered these expectations, despite being earned as much and even more than their man.
Modern acquaintances also played a role in the lapel of women from the persecution of relations or marriage. Even after frequent dates on applications such as Hinge and Bumble, many said they felt they returned from where they started after putting 1000 hours in the application.
Others decided to accept a solo life, focusing more on friendly relations and community, and more women studying lonely motherhood by choosing a child’s desire from waiting for a partner.
