Dr. Karishma Yaradi shared 3 simple swaps that can help maintain dental health in the summer:
1. Replace sweet soft drinks and juices with water:
The acids present in the soda, in combination with the acid produced when the sugar content in these drinks can soften dental enamel in the mouth and cause irreversible damage. Because almost 99 percent of the saliva consists of water, the easiest way to make sure your mouth produces enough saliva to drink more water. 2. Choose fresh fruits and vegetables over the packed snacks:
Fresh fruits and vegetables can help replenish the water lost by your body through sweat. Watermelon, cucumber and tomatoes are easily available examples. Yogurt, nuts and seeds are also nutritious, easy -to -teeth alternatives. On the other hand, sticky and sweet snacks, such as ice cream, escaima, fruit juices and other sweet treats, can contribute to tooth decay. They are best consumed in moderation. Make sure that grease your teeth with toothpaste after you use them or rinse your mouth with water. Also, find options without sugar where it is possible.
3. Prioritize a good sleep via binge caffeine:
Practicing good sleep hygiene can not only leave you to feel more updated and energetic, but can also keep your teeth healthier. Use a moisturizer in your bedroom to avoid dehydration. Also, remember that your allergies are likely to break out in the summer, causing congestion and inflammation of the nose. If your respiratory tract is narrowing as a result, your body instinctively switch to your mouth breathing, which can also make you more prone to dry in your mouth. Contact your allergy with the necessary medication and use salt nose or confrontation to clean any congestion. Caffein drinks can not only affect sleep schemes, but can also paint your teeth and make you more sensitive to dehydration and dry mouth.
