Losing weight isn’t about looking perfect, it’s about becoming the best version of yourself. Renu Mishra shares her weight transformation journey and how she lost 10 kilos in 3 months.

Losing weight comes with a number of challenges, and one of them has been an obstacle for Renu Mishra. Her fitness journey wasn’t about chasing the perfect figure, it was about feeling great and living a healthy and confident lifestyle. It all started with a wake-up call – a sharp pain in her heel that made her realize how far she had come from a healthy lifestyle. But it was her husband Arvind who became her main motivator. With his constant support and a bit of friendly competition with her husband, Renu began a transformation that changed not only her body but also her mindset. This weight loss transformation story will inspire you to become better, stronger and healthier.

The turning point in my life was when my weight became an issue

As a child, Renu Mishra was always an active person and followed a simple and homemade diet. She never faced problems with her weight, but Ren’s health problems started after her marriage when she moved to a new environment where she hardly exercised. Getting used to the new routine made it difficult for Ren to focus on his weight. She found herself gaining weight, and her once active lifestyle fell by the wayside. It was only after a sharp pain in her heel that she realized the seriousness of the rapid weight gain.

“That day I visited a doctor who checked my vital signs and asked about my daily routine. Without prescribing any medicine, he said, “Renyu, you need to change your daily routine.” No matter what, walk five kilometers every day.” I was shocked – five kilometers every day? It seemed impossible!” – says Renu.

“At first, this idea seemed scary. But now, looking back, I realize that nothing is impossible. All you need is determination and persistence. It requires constant effort every day. Sometimes when we’re stressed, we may feel like giving up, but having someone by your side can make all the difference. For me, that person was my husband Arvind. He understood that if the woman in the house is cheerful and healthy, the whole family will benefit. He was my cheerleader, my support system and, at times, my friendly competitor.”

The first step to weight change: excerpts from the interview

The first few days of my fitness were not easy at all. The excitement of the first day quickly turned into sore muscles on the second day. On the third day I could hardly move, and on the fourth I almost gave up. I can’t do this anymore! I thought, feeling pain all over my body. But just then I got a WhatsApp message from Arvind. At first I thought it was another motivational quote. But when I opened the message, I saw a photo of his smartwatch that showed he had walked 10,000 steps in an hour!

I was stunned. Then another message appeared: “Good morning, Polly! I have completed my task. What’s wrong with you?” Suddenly, I felt a sense of friendly competition rise up inside me. I replied, “I’m just about to go to the gym!” His response was quick: “Great! Let’s see who gets better in the next three months!” It was the spark I needed. I grabbed my scooter keys and headed to the gym, determined to prove myself.

Arvind’s support was not only physical but also emotional. Cheering Rena Mishra through tough times or accompanying her to the gym, he played a key role in her transformation. Together, they began their weight-loss journey and lost 10 kilograms in just three months. This has helped them significantly improve their mental health and energy levels.

Weight Loss Transformation: It Takes 21 Days to Make Fitness a Habit

Since her weight loss routine helped Ren transform, she made walking a permanent part of her weight transformation journey. “Five to six days a week in the gym, followed by a light walk in the evenings to relax the muscles, along with some dietary changes, has worked wonders. Arvind and I lost 10 kilograms in just three months. Our endurance improved and mentally we became more positive. Regular training gave me the strength to get through the hard days. I learned that when you develop a habit for 21 days, your body starts to remember it. Even if you take a break from training, when you come back, it’s easier to get back on track,” says Renu.

Home workouts and yoga helped me lose 10 kg in 3 months

Yoga has become another important part of Renu Mishra’s fitness routine. When they moved to a new place where gym options were limited, she joined an online yoga class to stay in shape. Yoga helped her improve her flexibility, and regular walks and home workouts kept her active. Even on days when it was too much, yoga and short meditation sessions became her stress relievers.

Renu pushed her limits to change her weight

Renu has always believed in going above and beyond. In the early stages of her weight shift journey, she found it difficult to hold a plank for even 10 seconds. Today, she can hold a bar for five minutes and lift weights up to 90 kilograms. The transformation was not only physical, but her confidence and self-belief grew every day.

Even when the pandemic started, Renu Mishra faced challenges. The isolation and emotional struggle during the lockdown took a toll on her, but she never backed down, and neither did her husband. He gently encouraged her to take small steps, starting with short walks. Slowly but surely, Renu regained her strength and motivation. This experience taught her the importance of maintaining a commitment to self-care even during difficult times.

Weight loss and fitness is about self-love, not perfection

Looking back on my weight loss transformation journey, I realize that fitness isn’t about suddenly losing weight or transforming into someone else. It’s about taking care of your body, loving yourself, and striving to be the best version of yourself. Fitness isn’t about dieting or starving yourself to get in shape—it’s about respecting and nurturing your body.

I will always be grateful to my husband for his support and encouragement. And I hope that every woman reading this understands the importance of putting self-care, love, and health first. Because when you feel good about yourself, it reflects in everything you do. So, every woman: keep moving, keep moving and remember that your health is your true wealth.
