TV actress Rupali Ganguly popular in her show ‘Anupam’s country‘, has been in the news a lot lately after her stepdaughter Esha Verma alleged that she had an extramarital affair with her father Ashwin Verma. However, in an earlier interview with Mashable India, Rupali Ganguly opened up about her lesser-known personality a love story with her current husband Ashwin Verma. In the chat, the TV actress talked about how she met Ashwin and how he proposed to her in an unusual way.
Reminiscing about how she met her husband Ashwin, Rupali said that he was then working on an ad film and she was selected out of 100-150 shots. And when she took on the project, people called her crazy for agreeing to star in an ad where she played the role of a 60-year-old married woman.

“At that time, I quit my job. I went to catering college. I was so disillusioned with the film industry, and then I went to catering college when I was very young. And then I was dressed as a 60-year-old, as a wife.” she said.
And while Rupali was aware of her rise, Ashwin appeared to be flirting with her, she said. “Suddenly, when I came out at the age of 60 with white hair and everything, the first line he (Ashwin) said was, ‘I wouldn’t mind growing old with someone like you,'” shared Rupali.
Soon after this incident, Rupali and Ashwin started talking and getting to know each other better. This, of course, is connected with the big money that was spent on ISD calls at that time, – shared the actress. They started out as friends and then got married – but there was no official proposal from Ashwin, Rupali said in an interview. “We decided on a date and I told Ashwin to talk to my father. He spoke to my father and they were convinced. Then we spoke to Ashwin’s parents, nothing grand or pompous, we got married.Rupali said.
Since they had a registered wedding, Rupali took only one day off from work for this. Recalling the incident, she also revealed that she was working on ‘Parvarrish’ and told her producer that she needed the day off for her wedding.
Now this is a completely unique love story.
