BIn 2022, when the actor of Manov Kaul asked Ogoli Michari to get acquainted with the meeting with the famous author Winod Kumar Shukla in his home in Raipur, he knew that he could get out of the film. “I went prepared,” Mishra says in India today. The filmmaker wore two cameras, tripods and a whole amount of sound equipment. But fate had other plans. For a large part of the day, he was unable to shoot anything when he turned into a Starstruck fan, when the Jnanpith 2024 prize, and now 88, started talking. “I was just listening,” he says. Mishra could not believe in his luck – that he was in the same room as one of the greatest living writers Hindi, and by the way, also the only Indian laureate of the Pen/ Nabokov Prize for International Literature.
